Pre-Kindergarten

We offer 3-day morning classes for pre-kindergarteners in a traditional classroom where the homeroom teacher teaches all core subjects. Enrichment activities such as Music are taught by specialists.

Academic Program:

Using a letter of the week format, we incorporate pre-reading, pre-writing, math, science, literature and art to learn and remember the sound of each letter of the alphabet. We also have unit studies coving specific science and social themes. We have 6th grade “book buddies” come to our room each week for one-to-one reading. Twice a week we have “music fun” class with our elementary music teacher.

Spiritual Emphasis:

We begin and end our school day with prayer. We have a Bible curriculum that includes Bible knowledge, personal application, memory verses and music. We also include art, games and other activities to reinforce our learning.

Activities:

We have five seasonal parties each year. We have other special days such as “candy house” day (decorate a gingerbread house with a parent), “Clifford the Big Red Dog” day and many others to highlight themes, seasons and special learning opportunities.

Textbooks Used:

Abeka textbooks and the Bible are supplemented with worksheets and other materials.
