World Literature

This course is primarily designed for 10th graders. It looks at the development of literature from the epic to the novel. We read from the Odyssey to Julius Caesar to Silas Marner and do a survey of poetry. In Grammar, we are looking to master of high school grammar. In Vocabulary we continue to look at Latin roots. In writing, we look at mastering high school level writing, focusing on the 5-paragraph essay and the term paper. For SAT/PSAT preparation, we look at all the English portions of the test and practice successful strategies.

Textbook/Resource Materials Used:
A-Beka: Grammar IV and Masterpieces and Background of World Literature; From Wordsmith: Vocabulary
