American Literature

This course is designed for 11th grade English students. This is pre-college level curriculum. The focus is American in literature with a survey of American short stories, poetry, novels, and plays. In vocabulary, we look at Greek roots and the English words they build. In grammar, our focus is college level and SAT preparation with exercises from former SAT tests and test taking strategies. Writing is a major focus; we are beginning to write at college level with college standards and expectations.
