Senior BibleSenior Bible is an upper-level Bible course that majors on Bible Interpretation skills, research, and critical thinking. Students are equipped to interpret scripture for themselves with sound hermeneutical principles based on the hermeneutic of literal interpretation. Principles of interpretation are taught in first semester, culminating in a research project dealing with “problem passages” that have historically caused disagreement and argument in evangelical churches. In second semester, students do independent research and write their own commentary on a New Testament book. Students develop research skills while integrating advanced writing skills. In addition, students investigate the Christian worldview, marriage and dating, and other contemporary topics in a class discussion format. Further, all seniors are required to fulfill a freshman befriending / mentoring project. Textbook/Resource Materials Used: |
